If the Customer Ain’t Right, You Ain’t Happy

In almost every corporate workshop I conduct I tell people about my friend Dave.  Dave has been married to his wife Joan for a long, long time.  Their marriage lasting so long is not, in and of itself, a remarkable thing.  What is great to see is how well they get along.  During one visit I asked Dave how he managed such a happy and connected relationship.  He said, “I decided a long time ago that you can either be right or you can be happy.  The person who is right sleeps on the couch.”
