Personality Tests Can’t Replace Good Management

I love taking personality tests.  Myers-Briggs, HumanMetrics, StrengthsFinder, Og Mandino, Riso-Hudson Enneagram, there is even a test that will determine your personality by having you choose colors.  I get the same thrill from each new model that I get reading my horoscope.  It feels comforting to have someone else—based solely on a 35-point questionnaire—tell me how I process information, communicate with co-workers, and decide my future.  I also get the luxury of disregarding those that don’t jive with my personal view of myself, keeping the rest to justify why it is okay for me to act the way I’ve always acted.
